Close your eyes and think of Valentine's Day. What immediately pops into fyour mind?
Flowers. Chocolate. Hugs. Kisses. Romantic getaways. Sunsets. Couples holding hands. Laughing together. Lipstick kisses. Candlelit dinners.
No one wants to see an ad that reads, "this Valentine's Day, surprise her with a smartwatch!" You can...if you want to increase the odds of the relationship to end (while a person may want or need a smartwatch - that's another story, and another occassion...)

The upcoming Valentine's Day (February 14th), is so ingrained in popular culture, you'll find inspiration virtually everywhere, from movies to books, to television, plays, poems ('roses are red, violets are blue, can someone please - sweep all these petals out with the broom?' How's this for a romantic rhyme?). But it's Valentine's Day after all, and, while not strictly a holiday, you know each half of each couple will try and make other other happy, even with a small gesture. Therefore, it's the copywriters and content writers to come up with creative copywriting and content writing. Here are a few copywriting tips for Valentine's Day:
Isn't it romantic? Getting a new mobile phone/table/smart watch for Valentine's Day! (Yes, I was being sarcastic, but-) You can even make mobile phones romantic: all it takes is a little imagination - and a good copywriter...which proves, you can make almost anything romantic. Even B2B copywriting or long-form content.
The fact is, there are so many romantic movies out there - from the classic to the recent -to inspire you in your content, whether print ad, banner or social media copywriting to blog or article content, there's almost too much to choose from. Examples? Here you go:
Dirty Dancing? With [product name] cleaner, your dancing with sparkle, shine and smell like a rose garden!
Can you imagine billboards and/or banners all over with a huge text in bold: Save the date! With Diamons from...or whatever product that's relevant.

If you recall the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (and whoever hasn't - watch it ASAP), you'll probably recall the scene where the old knight tells the protagonist whether he chose wisely or poorly.
Or, how about turning Valentine's Day on its head and showing images of arguing couples with the headline, "Happy Valentine's Day!" - what you do with it, is up to you, and your product/service...
And remember to slip in bits of memorable lyrics into your copywriting, such as: "All you need is love...and HBO Max."
"Love is an open door...with this/these...."
"Love takes time" - a great line if you're promoting watches
"Can you feel the special offer tonight?"
You get the idea.
However, Valentine's Day shouldn't stop you from thinking outside of the box: For instance, why can't you promote the love of a pet for...its food? Or comforting a spouse's favorite team loss of the Super Bowl with a special spa treatment for two, or even getting a couple of lonely lightbulbs together?
