16 Copywriting Tips Inspired By Arnold Schwarzenegger
What does Arnold Schwarzenegger have in common with copywriting? More than one might think.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest movie stars of our times. In the 1980s, 1990s and even early 2000s, he was one of the biggest draws to the movies, with hits ranging from The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Commando, Eraser, The Running Man, Twins, Total Recall, Last Action Hero, True Lies, the (unfortunately) short-lived Fubar series and many more. Of course, he's the deliverer of many, timeless, classic lines such as "Get to the choppaaaa!"
The typical 1980s action movies stars didn't talk much (gee, I wonder why? ), but stars like Schwarzenegger (and Sylvester Stallone, to a certain extent) used that to an advantage.
Did you notice that most of Arnie's most iconic lines are short? which is one of the main reasons their so memorable - just like great copywriting...(got milk? Where's the Beef, I'm Lovin' It, Good to the Last Drop, Can't Beat the Real Thing, Have it Your Way, etc.)
So let's muscle up on 16 copywriting tips Inspired By Arnold Schwarzenegger :
“I’ll be back!” – The Terminator
Probably Arnie's most iconic line, and one of the most famous lines in cinema history. Proof that to be memorable, a text doesn't have to be long.
For instance: 'With this [medicine], you'll be back!'
“Consider that a divorce!” - Total Recall
"Consider this an opportunity that will be gone very quickly."
“Hasta la vista, baby!” – Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Another iconic Terminator line. You can easily insert it into your copywriting or headline, such as hasta la vista, monthly car payments! But the truth is, this line is so iconic, and its meaning is easily understood, you can use it for most timed offers.

Like Arnie, on many occasions not much text is required... “Get to the chopper!” – Predator
When it comes to CTAs, no one does it better than Arnie. In this spirit, how about "get to the discount!" or "take me to the sale!" (befoe it ends...?)
“I let him go.” – After dropping a man off a cliff - Commando
'Let this (incredible) opportunity go.' Reverse psychology, anyone?
“He had to split.” – After cutting Buzzsaw in half with his own chainsaw - The Running Man
“What a hothead!” – After blowing up Fireball with his own flamethrower tank - The Running Man
"Only a hothead can miss out on this opportunity..."
“What a pain in the neck.” – After strangling Sub-Zero with barbed wire - The Running Man
'What a pain in the neck - missing out on a once-a-year offer!' or "[problem], what a pain in the neck - with one simple click you can make it go away."
“Here’s your Sub-Zero… now plain zero.” – The Running Man
How about something like "Here's 50% off! But in 30 minutes...it will be zero off!"
“Stick around.” – After pinning a man to a tree with a knife - Predator
"Stick around. 'Cause this offer won't."

"Who loves creative and witty copywriting?" “Come with me if you want to live.” – Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Can inspire "Sign up with me if you want unique tips on how to [get/improve/receive]
“I'm not into politics, I'm into survival.” – The Running Man
Curret events aside, you can easily replace the words with things like, "I'm not into politics. I'm into providing you with a limited time discount/offer..."
“What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!” – Conan the Barbarian
'What is best in life? To crush it in [sales/bargains/productivity/exams/dressing up] and hear the lamentation of your naysayers...'

Going through copywriting revisions like... “You've just been erased.” – Eraser
While "your Bitcoin has just been earsed" would certainly be an attention-grabbing email subject line, I'd be careful to use such a thing, especially with it being so volatile. But, i't up to you...however, "your 30% discount will be erased" can be a good option to attract attention.
“You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last.” – Commando.
[Name], I like you. That's why I'm going to take you off my special offers list last.' Sounds intriguing, right?
"Put that cookie down, now!" – Jingle All the Way
'...because you won't want to miss this chance to save up to...' This line, by the way, would probably work better during holiday season.
